Schönes Albumblatt mit dem Incipit des Grand Galop Chromatique.

Die ersten drei Takte von Liszts berühmter virtuoser Klavierkomposition in Es-Dur, entstanden im Herbst 1837 (Searle Nr. 219). "This work is the essence of all concertplatform fireworks" (ebd. S. 37). - Liszt konzertierte von 9. Februar bis 14. März 1841 erstmals in Belgien. Es ist wahrscheinlich, dass er auf dem Weg von Antwerpen nach Lüttich am 10. März in Mechelen ein privates Konzert gab und für seine Gastgeber - die Adelsfamilie Hynderick de Theulegoet - das hier vorliegende Albumblatt schrieb (vgl. Malou Haine, La première tournée de concerts de Franz Liszt en Belgique en 1841 , in: Revue belge de Musicologie , 56, 2002, S. 241-78). - Rechts oben mit handschriftlichem Vermerk des Vorbesitzers Lucien Tonnelier (1860-1932), eines Pianisten am belgischen Königshof: "Cet autographe de Franz Liszt (galop chromatique) appartenant à la collection de Madame Hynderick de Theulegoet, m'a été donné, après l'exécution chez elle de la sonate de Liszt le Sospiro, la Campanella etc. - en 1902." Das Blatt blieb in Familienbesitz.

Magnificent autograph album leaf with a musical quotation by Liszt, containing the first three bars of his "Grand Galop Chromatique", the famous and virtuoso piece for solo piano composed in late 1837. Probably written down for the noble family of Hynderick de Theulegoet in Mechelen who hosted him at one point during his concert tour in Belgium (Febr 9th to March 14th, 1841). - With ms. annotation by one of the former owners in the upper right corner. - Slightly foxed, with rebacked small tear to fold in the centre of the leaf.(R)
