Erste griechisch-lateinische Ausgabe mit dem angehängten Kommentar zum Propheten Daniel von Martin Luther.
EINBAND: Auberginfarbener Maroquinband d. 19. Jhs. (signiert "Hans Asper") mit goldgeprägtem Rückentitel, Kopfgoldschnitt sowie Steh- und Innenkantenvergoldung. 8vo. 16 : 10 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 2 Holzschnitt-Kopfvignetten und 4 Holzschnitt-Initialen (davon je 1 in Rot) sowie 2 Holzschnitt-Druckermarken (Januskopf, wdh.). - KOLLATION: 8, 118 (recte 218) num. Bll., 5 Bll. - ZUSTAND: Gedruckte Marginalien tls. etw. beschnitten, sonst schönes und guterhaltenes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Norddeutsche Privatsammlung.

Very rare work by Melanchthon on Daniel, printed together with commentary on Daniel by Luther. Fine print by Peter Braubach in an attractive hand-binding by the Geneva bookbinder Hans Asper (1855-1911). With 2 woodcut head vignettes and 4 woodcut initials (1 of each in red) as well as 2 woodcut printer's devices (Janus head, rep.). 19th cent. Aubergine-colored morocco binding (signed Hans Asper) with gilt title on spine, top edge gilt as well as gilt on edges and inside borders. - Printed marginalia partly trimmed, else well preserved copy.
